How can a pile of snow be melted sustainably, so that the snow is turned into water that can be transported to the chemical waste company?
AIR provided an overview of the different directions Schiphol can take in finding cost-effective solutions to melt snow sustainably
the Challenge
Schiphol is, although not often, highly impacted by heavy snowfall. To allow for limited hinder this needs to be removed, and it a sustainable and efficient way. AIR has looked in to various ways of snow melting, (chemical) de-icing solutions, and other ways to clean the water at the airside.
